A Practical, Focused 1-Day Course in the FNOR System

An Integrative, Neuroscience-based Approach to Lower Back Pain Rehab

This course provides an up-to-date, integrative perspective on the state of rehabilitation of lower back pain and disorders of the lumbopelvic hip complex with a practical emphasis on the application of neuroscience-based approaches to rehabilitation of this problematic global health crisis. Presented are new approaches, research, and ideas to leverage neural plasticity toward promoting recovery from persistent lower back pain using a rational and efficient approach.

Many clinicians who work routinely with lower back pain patients can markedly enhance their clinical approach with the addition of some of the techniques and concepts discussed in this one-day-course. The aim of this course is to introduce the attendee to the potential of an integrated, neuroscience-forward approach to rehabilitation of the spine as well as to equip them with tools, strategies, and treatments that leverage brain and nervous system to rapidly reduce pain and sustainably increase function and client independence.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. A Base of Evidence and Beyond:  What the Field Now Understands About Lower Back Pain… and What You Need to do about it.

2. Lumbopelvic-Hip Biomechanics and Lower Back Pain

3. The Fundamentals of Lower Back Pain for the Modern Rehabilitation Specialist:

a. The Pain Generator model
b. Navigating the Enigmatic World of MotorDysfunction in Pain
c. The Role of CNS in Persistent Pain
d. A Rational approach to Modality Selection (incl. Manipulation)
4. The FNOR Matrix:  A rational, evidence-based framework for LBP and Rehabilitation of Complex Injury.
