    Course Description:

The Lower Kinetic Chain is one of the most underappreciated functional subsystems in rehabilitation. Dysfunction in the lower quarter has an almost unique capacity to generate and transmit injurious forces to remote areas of the body and nervous system, especially the lower spine and pelvis, often manifesting as more than- or something other than lower limb symptoms. This course is a highly practical, integrative approach to lower quarter assessment and rehabilitation. The course will span instruction in gait and movement assessment, practical pain treatment methods for common lower limb conditions, and the use of the lower kinetic chain as a robust sensorimotor platform from which to affect the central nervous system. Chronic lower limb conditions are often associated with chronic nervous system conditions and even upper quarter issues. This course will present a current and integrative approach to the management of lower limb injury involving all joints of the lower limb as well as rehabilitation following surgery.
