    Course Description

The typical FNORTM therapy session is quite unique. From a certain perspective the engagement can be argued to resemble a dance or sparring match. The process is a highly dynamic, fast-paced series of cues and responses on the part of the client and the practitioner that demands the ability to quickly identify CNS changes in order to instantly modify the application of the therapeutic technique.  This requires that the FNORTM practitioner must rapidly process biomechanical, movement and CNS reflexive cues to dynamically “on-the-fly” modify the rehabilitation approach (this is the primary reason that this course follows the 3 regionally-based FNOR 1-3 courses – the practitioner must understand regional biomechanics and corresponding CNS functions.) The result is an intensive, stimulating but safe process that extracts optimal improvements from the client.  Simply put, positive changes happen much faster… and clients notice it!

Following the first three, regionally focused courses in fundamentals, FNOR 4TM is a demanding, hands-on instructional environment that presents to the learner the full integrative, neuroscience-driven nature of the FNORTM rehabilitation approach. FNOR 4 attendees will experience the FNORTM rehabilitation experience from the perspectives of the directing therapist as well as the client in a series of intensive, hands-on labs. By the end of this course, the rehabilitation specialist will be armed with a clinical framework to effect profound and rapid changes in the human body and nervous system. The benefits of this system are not only applicable in the area of orthopedic rehabilitation but also to the benefit of neurologically compromised patients (e.g. TBI and stroke).

WHY (AS A MODERN REHABILITATION SPECIALIST) YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE:

“We believe that the FNORTM approach to neuromuscular rehabilitation truly delivers on the ubiquitous, decades-old, acknowledgement (so rarely if ever practically achieved) that healthcare should be tailored to the specific, individual needs of the patient. So often, as rehabilitation practitioners, we acknowledge the multi-dimensional and individualized nature of chronic conditions yet when “the rubber meets the road” clinically, we find ourselves using the same, limited set of tools for complex and individually-driven problems. The (FNORTM) system not only presents each client with a unique therapy formulation but also affords the practitioner the ability to rapidly shift therapeutic applications to adapt to the specific, evolving needs of the client on an intra- and inter-session basis. I’ve been involved in orthopedic physical therapy for many years and I feel that I’ve been exposed to most of the current, influential perspectives in our industry… I’m convinced we’re onto something truly unique and valuable.” (Fife, 2015)
